Red Ali (formerly WerdSmith)
Rapper/Producer
Red Ali is an up up-and-coming Miami based rapper and producer who recently re-located to Orlando. The name "Red Ali" represents two things: His two biggest inspirations Malcolm X (who was nicknamed "Red" early in adulthood) and Muhammad "Ali" and it is an acronymn for "Remembering Every Disaster and All Lessons Involved. Red Ali's sound can only be described as unique. Growing up in South Miami Red Ali knew he was different from those in his surroundings. Being on the more weird/nerdy side he wasn't into the same things as the ghetto kids from his neighborhood or the preppy kids in the schools. This uniqueness carried over into the music. From his angry and aggressive flow in an era of smooth rappers to his his use of loud aggressive drums over smooth and jazzy samples in his beats. On the surface Red Ali's lyricism is made up of aggresive gangster lines used as metaphors for his ability to "kill" any rapper or instrumental and Creative similes, but, every song is filled with deeper messages and double meanings that many do not catch. However, his creativity isn't only in his music. Being to young for a legal job and not wanting to resort to illegal activites but filled with ambition and a love for music, Ali was forced to make a compromise at the age of 15. Red Ali broke the rules but not the law and bought a box of candy and pretended to be one of his highschool's fundraisers and doubled the price of the original box. Continuing this process until he was caught and banned from selling months later Red Ali used these profits to build the home studio that he still uses to this day and keeps adding to the studio. Red Ali still continues this hard work and self-made mentality today when producing all his own beats and being the "go to guy" for beats in the SLVR RM FCTY, releasing a track every friday (#RedFriday) for his fans, working on his latest project ("Yours Truly) and going to school at Valencia Community College in Orlando, Fl.
